Here is another great disappointment to me!

The ban on smoking in public places is a political measure that will have a significant impact and in the daily lives of all the French. This is an opportunity to show political courage.

So far, the proposals of Nicolas Sarkozy seemed positive. But this latest statement disappoints me greatly. What does non rigidly applied? A new text will not be applied on the ground? Mr Sarkozy spoke of geographic adjustments. How to define areas where ¹ banning smoking in public places apply?

An overwhelming majority of French people (about 75% in recent polls) are awaiting a clear position on banning smoking in public places and protect non-smokers. Why make a compromise with those selling tobacco?

Banning smoking in trains of SNCF has been able to debate at a time, but since its entry into force, no one speaks or does not wish to return back. The same goes for restaurants!

Nicolas Sarkozy enjoys international comparisons, particularly watching what happens in the United States. Rather they are watching to San Francisco and Silicon Valley where ¹ restaurants are "smoke free" and where ¹ sport is emphasized, rather than where ¹ Las Vegas casinos are smoke-filled 24 hours on 24.

What a disappointment! What a disappointment!
